Elementary Writing & Grammar- Narnia

We will be exploring the world of Narnia! Join us for a fun year of reading, writing and grammar as we take a behind the scenes look at the magical world of Narnia Using the first three novels of The Chronicles of Narnia® (The Magician’s Nephew, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and The Horse and His Boy) this class will woo students into the enchanted land of Narnia through the Structure and Style® writing method. This Student Book gives reading assignments from the novels, source texts on related topics, checklists, assignments, wordlists, and more!

Our class time will be devoted to reading each week’s reading passage and then working together to implement specific writing styles. As we learn how to better our writing, each student will be responsible for writing one piece every week based on the content and style learned in class. At the end of each unit, students will present one piece from that unit to share with their classmates. We will learn how to best critique each other’s work in a positive manner and how we can improve our writing by working together.

English grammar instruction will also be an important part of this class and students will solidify their undestanding and usage of parts of speech, types of sentences and much more!

This full-year course is best for students in 6th-8th grade. The text includes vocabulary cards, literature suggestions, and access to helpful PDF downloads.
