Latin I is for  5th -9th grade students. Younger and older students are welcome but this is the targeted age group.

This Latin class will cover the first 3 Conjugations and the 5 Declensions. In addition, we will cover vocabulary, grammar, translations from English to Latin and from Latin to English. Students will learn sayings and prayers. Our classes included weekly form chants, sentence diagramming and lively interaction. This class is a 1 credit high school program.  This class is also perfect training for the National Latin Exam.

This course is an excellent introduction to the fascinating study of foreign language. Your student will gain in their understanding of English grammar, learn around 300 vocabulary words and have a great time de-coding a language very similar to their own! Class games and challenges are part of the learning, and students can expect quizzes, along with 5 Unit Tests throughout the year.

Students will need to purchase the following Latin texts:

Class will meet weekly live on-line for 1 hour on Zoom. Pair with the National Latin Exam Test Prep class for a more robust introduction to the classics.
