Middle School Homeroom
Middle school students will have an opportunity to meet with their friends and work together on common goals. Any student needing extra help will be able to schedule time during study hall if they just need a little bit of help or some answers to questions. This time can include teacher/facilitator reviewing and editing their work, helping them to plan out their week, or even suggesting ways to be productive with their work. This is an excellent opportunity for a supervised study session which can include quizzing each other, working on projects students may have been assigned, and even figuring out Google classroom if needed. Students at this age sometimes need to have someone sitting by them and encouraging them to keep going. Middle School Homeroom is a “virtual” way to achieve some of those needs as well as providing camaraderie and fellowship to young students.
Middle School Homeroom will begin each week by focusing on a devotion and prayer, and then spend a very brief time on a life management lesson. Lessons may include ways to break down bigger projects, personal and academic planning, study skills, and “life hacks” for helping them to achieve their goals. Do they not have goals yet? This would be a great opportunity to have some gentle leading to create their own goals.
Kids just need to come. They will be met where ever they are at. Dance parties may be included per students’ requests. We will meet weekly on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
There is no requirement for attending. Middle School students who have purchased either the 3 or the 6-course Bundle will have Middle School Homeroom included in their schedule free of charge, to help your student achieve optimal academic success!
