Description
The Story of Christianity course will take students through 2000 years of historic events, documents, people, and thoughts that shape our understanding of the Church and her people throughout the ages. Hart’s beautifully illustrated text is a treasure-trove of Christian thought, art, and history. It is available in book form and ebook, which are both acceptable for our class. Hannula’s text introduces us to heroes of the faith through rich storytelling from Polycarp, Luther, Tyndale, Calvin, all the way to C.S. Lewis and Richard Wurmbrand.
Combined with a student guide by Memoria Press and teacher-led Socratic discussions this course hopes to delight, inspire, and inform. Students should prepare to read, think, discuss and wrestle with their own faith as they place themselves on the timeline of the greatest story in history; The Story of Christianity!
The person without any knowledge of events from before he or she was born would forever remain an infant.
~ Cicero
The loss of community memory in some parts of the Christian world is deeply concerning as we have forgotten the foundation on which our faith is built.
