U.S.History will cover from A.D. 1000 to the Present in 30 weekly units (five daily lessons per unit). Each weekly online class will provide both review and preview of the weekly units, through discussions, quizzes, and games. Assessments for U.S. History will include occasional tests, and overall grade will be determined by a combination of class participation,assignments completed, and test scores. This will be a dynamic, interactive class for Junior High students, giving them a well-rounded look at the United States. The text is bright and colorful and specifically chosen to engage students as they lay a firm foundation for high school studies.
Grading scale: A = 90-100%; B = 80-89%; C =70-79%; D = 60-69%; F = 59% or less.
*Please note: Curriculum for U.S.History is currently being revised and updated. The new edition will be released in March 2020. The class will be using the new edition, which features numerous updates and replaces several units with entirely different ones.
Required Texts: *America the Beautiful, Part 1 and Part 2, by Charlene Notgrass; and We the People (a collection of original documents).
