Discover & Understand World Religions (CLEP Prep) -1 Credit
This study of World Religions is designed to help students understand their own faith and belief system as well as the tenets of other major religions; it will encourage students to think critically, and to help them understand how different belief systems affect one’s approach to life. This course will cover Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Native Religions, Hinduism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Taoism, and Buddhism. Each World Religion is treated as a mini-unit study with reading, review and discussion questions, project, movies and virtual field trips assigned for the students to discover and understand more fully the Religions being covered.
This course will be taught from a decidedly Christian point of view for students in grades 7-12th grades and will prepare students to take the DSST or CLEP exam in World/ Comparative Religions.
