World Religions
World Religions is a year-long, 1 credit class that counts toward required high school level Social Study credits. This course will introduce the student to the study of worldviews as well as world religions from a Judeo-Christian perspective: encouraging them in their faith, inspiring further research, and challenging them to humbly and lovingly engage with others. Basic instruction in apologetics will be given with each worldview and religion studied: Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Daoism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Parsi, Shinto and Sikhism; theism, deism, naturalism, Marxism, nihilism, existentialism, Eastern Monism, New Age philosophy, and postmodernism.
Students should be prepared to read, discuss and engage with the material and classmates as they explore and discover people groups around the world, their core values, beliefs, and religions. Students will be equipped to engage globally while gaining further understanding of their own worldview.

Count this course for Humanities, History, Religion. This will be an excellent class for all High School students as they wrestle through world views. This course is taught from a decidedly Judeo-Christian point of view with the unwavering belief that the God of the Bible is living and active compared to man-made religions and gods of wood and stone.
Full Year Course – 1 Credit: The class will be taught and graded by your True North Homeschool Academy teacher. The coursework your child will complete in this high school level course is equal to one credit hour which may be awarded by your homeschool upon completion of the course.
