World Religions is a year-long, 1 credit class that counts toward required high school level Social Study credits. This course will introduce the student to the study of worldviews as well as world religions from a Judeo-Christian perspective: encouraging them in their faith, inspiring further research, and challenging them to humbly and lovingly engage with others. Basic instruction in apologetics will be given with each worldview and religion studied: Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Daoism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Parsi, Shinto and Sikhism.
Students should be prepared to read, discuss and engage with the material and classmates as they explore and discover people groups around the world, their core values, beliefs, and religions. Students will be equipped to engage globally while gaining further understanding of their own worldview.
