Summer in the Outdoors!
We live in the upper Midwest and the winters are long so we are always eager for summer and getting outside. In fact, summer is one of our favorite seasons; you’ll find us outdoors more often than not- clamboring over the hills, gardening, walking to the river and just taking in it’s peaceful summer babble. And if not outside, on our front porch, enclosed on 3 sides by windows, we fill it with flowers and comfy furniture- perfect for summer visiting! One of our most memorable and enjoyable summer activities was hosting a summer Lewis and Clark day-camp on our acreage for a week with other homeschooling families, complete with history, geography, Nature Journaling, foraging, crafting and plenty of good wholesome outdoor play! I’m excited to share the particular of our camp over at Minnesota Country Girl who is hosting Summer in the Outdoors: A Homeschool Series of Gardening, Foraging & Nature Studies where I’ll be guest blogging on June 11. We are joining up with over 25 other bloggers and outdoor enthusiasts to bring you some phenomenal ideas about how to make the most of your summer. Education is about far more than books and sitting at a table or desk studying and summer is the perfect time to expand your horizons, get moving and bring a little laughter, color and summer fun into the picture!
